In partnership with the Michael G. Foster School of Business, the Business Living Learning Community (LLC) members will develop personal and professional skills that are core to the Foster School: critical and strategic thinking, problem solving, collaboration and leadership.
Business LLC members are encouraged to explore their interests and answer questions such as “What excites me about the business field? What are my academic and career aspirations, and how does that connect to business? How do I make my dreams a reality in the face of competitive majors, a rigorous application process, and demanding exams?”
McCarty Hall is just a short walk from classes in the Foster School of Business, Dempsey Hall, Founders Hall and PACCAR Hall.
McCarty Hall has two Resident Directors and one Assistant Resident Director. The Business LLC has three dedicated Resident Advisers, who are there to support students.
Build a prototype of your next product at The MILL makerspace inside McCarty Hall or take a short walk to the Foster Business School Library to study.
LLC members engage with Res Life staff and residents, Foster staff and faculty, business leaders and alumni who share an interest in business. The community comes together to learn and grow through fun and educational activities and events each quarter. These are some of the Business LLC’s past events.
Members had the chance to meet new people, create new friendships, eat good food, win prizes and start the year off with a party!
Residents attended a business career fair and were introduced to potential employers and internship opportunities.
With the academic year ending, this event provided residents with tips on building a professional presence via LinkedIn.
LLC members attended a Q&A panel with upper-class Foster students who shared their experiences.
Residents networked with key Foster professors and faculty. Attendees spent a few minutes speaking with a faculty member and then were rotated to the next table to meet the rest of the faculty members.
As residents were exploring which Foster concentrations they like most, they had the chance to navigate professional and academic paths with an academic advisor and peer coach advisor.
