At the recent ACUHO-I (Association of College and University Housing Officers - International) Business Operations Conference held in Pittsburgh, PA, UW Housing & Food Services (HFS) earned first place for Website in the annual Marketing Awards competition. Accepting the award was Deborah Costar, Assistant Director, HFS Communications and Marketing, who was attending the conference.
The HFS Website Redesign Cross-functional Project spanned more than two years, from start to launch.
Communications and Marketing and Information Technology worked cooperatively in the planning, coordination and implementation of the work, with ComMar leading the content strategy, design and user experience development of the project, and IT leading the technical elements of the project and providing overall project management.
HFS also took the 3rd place for Printed Handout (HFS Resource Guide 2017-2018), a useful compendium of statistics and demographics relating to HFS housing and dining.
The ACUHO-I Marketing Awards recognize well-designed and innovative media for residence life and housing operations. The awards acknowledge ACUHO-I members and their departments for their accomplishments and creativity. Submissions must have been produced in-house by the housing department and/or the University marketing team (no agency work allowed), and be original work.
The ACUHO-I Business Operations Conference gathers staff from areas such as assignments and occupancy, information technology, marketing, conference services, administration and business operations to learn and share new and emerging best practices in housing and residence life operations.
