Residential Life Activities
Explore the HFS Event Calendar
UW Residential Life events are open to all University of Washington residents. Join us for events like cooking workshops, movie screenings, scavenger hunts and more. Almost all of our events are free! A variety of groups host UW Residential Life events, including the Residential Programming Board (RPB), Residence Education Programmer (REP) team and Residential Community Student Association (RCSA).
RCSA
The Residential Community Student Association (RCSA) serves as the democratic voice of student residents and leads the residential community through promoting engagement, ownership, and advocacy. RCSA works together to help make a difference in the resident experience through striving to enrich student life and develop future leaders.
RPB
The Residential Programming Board (RPB) builds community across campus by offering programs that support academic success, wellness, social justice and diversity, and social connection. RPB hosts workshops, themed activities, and large-scale social events—including crafting, field trips, movie screenings, and collaborations with UW partners—to help residents connect, learn, and thrive.
Activities in your community throughout the year
Watch your hall lobby or check your hall's Facebook page for these and other activities.
Take a day trip
Residential Life hosts trips to destinations in the greater Seattle area for low or no cost to residents. Past trips have included: Snoqualmie Pass for snow tubing, a Seattle Mariners game, a Seattle Sounders game, pumpkin patches and more!
Join Hall Council
Each community has a Hall or Community Council, open to any student in the community to join. You will help plan programs and events, advocate for community needs, and gain valuable leadership skills. Hall Councils meet weekly, and they are a great way to get involved and meet new people!
Learn something new
Residential Life student staff host educational events in the community in the areas of academic success, wellness, diversity and social justice. Learn something new, socialize with other residents, and build skills to help you succeed at the UW and beyond.
Watch a movie—for free!
The Residential Programming Board (RPB) hosts weekly movie screenings at no cost to students. Popcorn included!
Make and Takes
Get creative and make something that you can also take with you! Previous Make and Take events have included potted plants and succulents, paintings, scrunchies, engraved chopsticks and vinyl stickers.
Fall Quarter Activities
Participate in Dawg Daze
Dawg Daze is a great way to discover resources, get familiar with important campus landmarks, and connect with UW staff and other UW students. Join the Residential Programming Board (RPB) and First Year Programs (FYP) in Red Square after Quad Flicks for our annual Late Night Carnival.
UW Family Weekend
Spend time with your Husky and get a taste of campus life. Share the W Day tradition at our party in Red Square, enjoy great food and new friends at the UW Family Tailgate, and root for the Huskies at Homecoming. Bring the whole family and create fun memories!
