Quick Read: Overnight Oats: the last Dorm Dining 101 session until fall quarter

  • Event: UW Dining is hosting a free overnight oats cooking demo on May 20, 5–6 p.m. at the Chef's Table in Local Point
  • Why overnight oats: They're a no-cook, prep-ahead breakfast
  • Easy to get started: Recipe cards, shopping lists, ingredients are all available at District Market, Alder

Overnight oats are basically the ultimate low-effort, high-reward breakfast. Just combine oats with milk and let them sit in the fridge overnight. By morning, they’re soft, creamy and ready to eat—no prep needed when you’re rushing out the door.

They’re not just convenient to make, they’re really good for you, too. Oats are packed with fiber to keep you full throughout your morning classes, and you can level them up with things like yogurt, nuts, seeds and fruit for extra protein, healthy fats and nutrients. It’s an easy way to build a balanced breakfast without overthinking it.

Join UW Dining for the final cooking demo of the quarter. We’ll show you how to make healthy overnight oats in your Husky Home, and you’ll get to try the finished product, too. It’s a simple, delicious breakfast you can just grab and toss in your bag before class.
