Submit a photo

UW campus in fall, with Husky Card

Your student Husky Card is your official photo identification card while attending the University of Washington. Because Advising & Orientation sessions will be facilitated remotely, we have designed an online photo submission process.

Who can submit a photo online

This online submission process only applies to incoming first-year undergraduate and transfer students who are registered for an A&O session through First Year Programs and are obtaining their first Husky Card.

Students who already have a Husky Card or who have previously submitted a photo are not eligible to submit another one through this online portal. If you'd like to take a new photo you may visit a Husky Card ID Center in person whenever you are next on campus, or contact the Husky Card Office at huskycrd@uw.edu for more information.

Newly admitted Graduate Program, Online Degree Program, and Accelerated Bachelor's Program students, please visit the Husky Card Operations Updates page for instructions on how to obtain your Husky Card.

You will need to take or find a recent color passport-style photo of yourself. Read the photo requirements below.

Along with your photo you will also need to submit a color scan or picture of your US driver’s license (front and back) or state ID, passport, or military ID. Include the entire document and make sure the identity information on it is clear and readable.

Step 2: Register your preferred name (optional)

Step 3: Submit your photo using our secure portal

Step 4: Check your UW email

Please allow 2-3 business days for processing. An email will be sent to your UW email address once the review process is complete. If the photo is rejected you will need to complete the submission form again to upload both a new photo file and government-issued photo ID that meets the requirements. Once your photo has been approved you will not be able to submit another one.

RECEIVING YOUR HUSKY CARD

UW Seattle campus incoming Autumn Quarter 2021 A&O students: First Year Programs is no longer mailing Husky Cards. You may still submit your photo and obtain your Husky Card in person from the Husky Card Office when you are next on campus. • Full name
  • Student ID number
