Submit a photo

Students walking through campus and a Husky Card with a photo of Dubs.

Your student Husky Card is your official photo identification card while attending the University of Washington and provides access to campus services, buildings, transportation, and activities.

Who can submit a photo online

UW Seattle and Bothell campus students are eligible to use this site to submit your photo online for your official UW Husky Card.

UW Tacoma students should not use this site for photo submission and instead visit the UW Tacoma website for information on how to submit your photo and obtain your card.

Students transferring between campuses and returning students do not need to upload a new photo, as your previous card will become active again and should continue to be used.

Note: As many different types of students utilize this site, please note that submitting your photo online does not necessarily initiate the printing of a Husky Card automatically. Please be sure to visit the Husky Card Operations Updates page for specific information and instructions on you may obtain or request your card.

Step 1: Find a photo

You will need to take or find a recent color headshot picture of yourself. Passport-style photos are ideal. Read the full photo requirements below.

Along with your photo you will also need to submit a color scan or picture of your US driver’s license, US state ID, US military ID, or international passport (name must be printed in English). If you do not have one, you may submit these three documents instead: high school photo ID card, birth certificate and social security card. Include the entire document and make sure the identity information on it is clear and readable. We cannot accept foreign national identity cards.

Your government ID is used for identity verification purposes only. In accordance with UW's security and privacy policies, your ID documents will not be saved in any system and will be permanently deleted once your submission has been approved. You may alternatively choose to visit our office and have your documents verified, photo taken, and Husky Card issued to you in person.
