Coronavirus rules for move-in
Over the coming weeks, UW will be sending email which provides guidelines based on current public health recommendations, for students returning to campus. These guidelines may include limiting gatherings prior to arrival, COVID-19 testing recommendations, and how to report if you receive a positive test.
Guests: A limit of two people can arrive with you to help you move in. No pets are allowed during move-in.
Vehicles: Only one vehicle can be used per student to move in.
Face coverings are required: At the UW when you are inside, when other people are present (this includes common areas, such as hallways, stairways, restrooms and elevators) and outdoors when keeping a six-foot distance from others may not be possible. Please ensure you are wearing a face covering when you arrive to move-in.
Sanitization: Carts will be available for you to move belongings from the check-in location to your room. Carts will be sanitized between each use using EPA-registered disinfectants. Hand sanitizer will be available for use near elevators.
Staff and volunteers: All staff and volunteers assisting during move-in will be required to wear surgical masks. There will be student volunteers available to assist you with the loading and unloading of your belongings. Volunteers will ask for your name and room number to keep record of students they work with for contact tracing purposes. All staff and volunteers will complete daily attestation forms before arriving to assist with move-in.
Elevators: In each community, one elevator will be designated to move carts to floors and one elevator will be designated for resident and guest use. No more than two people (or three people from the same household) will be permitted in an elevator at a time.
