Our Favorite On-Campus Dishes
November 13, 2023 by Sarah Ungerer
We have good news for you if you’re on campus and craving food: your options are endless! Check out one (or all) of our favorites found at UW’s restaurants, cafĂ©s and markets.
1. Cultivate – Chorizo Quesadilla
Cultivate, located in Elm Hall, is our very own restaurant style Dining location with seasonal classic dishes. If you are ever at a loss of which delicious dish to dive into, look no further than the Chorizo Quesadilla on their Spring Menu. It’s topped with cilantro and comes with mouth-watering salsa and sour cream. While you’re there, grab a side of chips and dip.
2. Motosurf – Kalua Pork
Located in the Husky Den Food Court Motosurf is a Hawaiian-style lunch spot with protein-filled flavorful dishes. Next time you are at The HUB, try out their most popular dish, Kalua Pork. Served with sides of rice and mac-salad, the shredded pork and cabbage is a taste of paradise.
3. Pagliacci Pizza – The Italiano
Pagliacci Pizza is our favorite Seattle pizzeria, and we’re proud to have three locations on campus! Visit Local Point, Husky Den Food Court, or the stand-alone eatery across from Center Table to grab a few slices. Go on a Tuesday to get our favorite: the Italiano. This rotating slice has garlic, red pepper flakes, garlic, fresh parsley, Fontina and mozzarella.
Another reason to love Pagliacci? You can order whole pies any day of the week, and you even have the option of switching to a gluten-free crust!
4. CafĂ©s – Maple Bar
Need a morning pick-me-up? Head to one of our cafĂ©s or District Markets to grab a delicious maple bar. If you’re not a maple bar fan, you can find other donuts and pastries from Alki Bakery to satisfy your sweet tooth.
5. Dawg Bites – Acai Bowl
A cold, healthy snack is the right move before or after any workout! Next time you head to the IMA, grab a tasty acai bowl at Dawg Bites! Top off your bowl with peanut butter, granola, fruit and more. You can also find acai bowls at By George Café in Odegaard Undergrad Library on main campus.
6. Husky Grind CafĂ©, Mercer Court – The New Yorker
Husky Grind Café in Mercer Court is your perfect daytime stop for coffee, pastries and bagels. Our favorite is the New Yorker bagel. Choose your bagel and cream cheese spread, then add smoked salmon, onions, and capers. And we love that you can get it toasted here, with a chilled to-go option available at District Market, Alder!
